Founder & Principal Consultant

I'm Darrin Shaw, founder and principal consultant at The Projects House. I've spent over 15 years in senior IT leadership roles across the NHS and FMCG sectors, most recently leading a full-scale digital, data and IT transformation for a global consumer goods brand — covering ERP, product information management, data & analytics, infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Earlier in my career, I built and led a large IT shared service spanning multiple NHS organisations, taking it to national recognition with Service Desk Institute awards and accreditation for operational excellence. That experience — running a service that was itself procured, benchmarked and scrutinised — is what grounds my work today helping other organisations assess, recover and improve their own IT service delivery, and make better decisions about their MSP relationships.

How we work

The Projects House isn't a large consultancy, and it isn't trying to be. I work with a small, trusted network of associates with complementary specialisms — enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, programme management, service design, leadership & development — so that engagements can flex to the size and complexity of the work, and so clients aren't dependent on a single individual's availability. Depending on the engagement, that might mean I work alongside an associate, or an associate delivers a workstream in my place.
